How to create hotspot using CMD.


When you can create a hotspot on your own then why to use third party software? Follow the steps below and your hotspot is ready.

Step 1: Right-click on the start button and select command prompt(Admin) from the menu.

Step 2: Type the below command, this command will set the name and password for your device and allow your PC to start the hotspot

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NetworkSSID key=1234

Note: NetworkSSID in the above command is hotspot name and 1234 is a password for the hotspot. You can keep your own.

Step 3: The command below will start the hotspot.

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Step 4:  Your hotspot is ready but there is no internet access, so to provide internet access go to wifi signal and right click and choose Open Network and Sharing Center then select change adaptor setting.

Step 6: Right-click on Internet Connection and select Properties option.

Step 7:  Go to Sharing tab and click the box “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection”.

Step 8. From the drop-down menu select the network connection name you set for your hotspot.

(For this required information check the Network Connection Window and look for connection which says Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual)

Your hotspot is fully functional.

Again, to stop your hotspot, enter the below command in command prompt(admin)

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

Again, to start your hotspot, enter the below command in command prompt(admin)

netsh wlan start hostednetwork
